A robust MFL provision to withstand Ofsted

Speak Like A Native was created to bring the best language learning practice from around the world to UK schools. Think about how children in Europe and Asia grow up learning English so well. It’s not luck nor is it “because they need it”. Our children should be doing the same with Spanish, French, German or Mandarin.

Primary schools in the UK can equip children for secondary school and beyond but they may need to make some changes.

What people think...

It’s an amazing programme. I have 2 boys in the Spanish club, which is their third language. I absolutely recommend this club to those who want to learn and speak Spanish.

Leila Davoudian – Parent

My child thoroughly enjoyed her Spanish classes and really liked her teacher

Darlinghurst Academy Parent

My son is really enjoying the club and always comes home in a very good mood and excited for the next class. The guide is a fantastic person and is so knowledgeable and patient with all the children, we couldn’t have gotten a better guide.

Branfil School Parent

Speak Like A Native have started their Spanish club at Bishop Gilpin in April 2019 and so far children and parents are pleased with the club and teacher. The office is also easy to contact and they have a thorough vetting policy in place for staff. Cost is in line with other clubs. Overall we are pleased with their work so far.

Bishop Gilpin Primary School

As citizens of the world, the pupils at Frith Manor School want to communicate in languages other than English. Speak Like a Native promotes the love and joy of languages … as opposed to rote learning stock words and phrases!

Leigh Carmichael, Head Teacher, Frith Manor Primary School

My son did two terms of Speak Like A Native in his last year at primary school and now has a lot more confidence that language learning is nothing to be feared. My daughter also began classes earlier this year and she loves it! Just signed her up for another term. It’s great to see how she’s trying to use the new words each week.

Maria Pecoff, parent – London
